May I start by saying a big thank you to all NHS service providers and their staff in Fylde and Wyre for another year of dedication and hard work. I would also like to thank our other partner organisations that have helped us in our work improving healthcare for people living in this part of the world throughout 2016.

I must also say a big thank you to the staff and my Governing Body colleagues here at NHS Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Group. We are lucky in this area to have such a hard-working and proud team who are keen to improve the health and wellbeing of our population.

The past 12 months have, as you would expect, presented some challenges. These have been met head on by our team here who have helped to make 2016 a successful one for the CCG.

I have been very pleased this year to see our organisation working more closely than ever with our partners at Blackpool CCG and also our local hospitals trust as we look to find more efficient ways of providing the care our population needs.

One of the highlights of the year for me was the coming together of our three organisations for the first ever joint annual general meetings which took place as part of the extremely successful Fylde Coast Health Event at Lowther Pavilion back in September.

This gave us a chance to share the hard work that has been done across the whole Fylde coast with each other and with the people living in the area.

We had a solid turnout with hundreds of local residents in attendance on the night and the feedback we received about the event was overwhelmingly positive.

We look forward to hosting similar events in partnership with our Fylde coast colleagues in the coming years.

I would like to finish this final blog of 2016 by wishing everyone in Fylde and Wyre a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year.
